"Live Forever" by Oasis was released on August 8, 1994, as the third single from their debut album, Definitely Maybe. Written by Noel Gallagher during his time as a construction worker, the song stands out as an optimistic ballad during the grunge era. Noel aimed to contrast the outlook of Oasis with that of Nirvana, particularly focusing on the differences between himself and Kurt Cobain. While Cobain, despite his success, was often seen as miserable, Noel found joy in the simple act of waking up each day, despite having very little.
